TIRANA, Oct 24 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ “Germany is committed and stays in touch with us to align the next moves and build a strategic process with decision-making countries,” PM Edi Rama stated in a televised interview on Thursday evening with regard to a phone conversation with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.
Rama says: “ German Chancellor stays in contact with us because she is very much involved in this process, which is not simply for the sake of Albania, it is for the sake of entire Berlin process and its stations down the path.”
He recalled how Merkel has led a long-running battle to obtain “Yes” for opening of accession negotiations.
“In my opinion, President of France speaks on account of interior policy when talking about asylum-seekers. Never ever has Macron stood for opening of accession negotiations with North Macedonia, and postponement of accession negotiations with Albania,” Rama said.
