TIRANA, October 20 /ATA/-Germany stands for a European perspective of the Western Balkans and urges Albania and North Macedonia to pursue the reform efforts.
The leader of the Socialist Party’s Parliamentary group Taulant Balla released today the CDU / CSU’s stance following the European Council’s disagreement over opening of accession negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia.
The deputy chairman of the CDU / CSU Parliamentary group Johann Wadephul called on both countries to consider the European Council’s negative vote as an incentive to continue all reform efforts.
On his part, Balla wrote on Twitter he remains, “Grateful to CDU / CSU for the special attention on the Western Balkans. I completely agree with Wadephul and Christian Schmidt that both Albania and North Macedonia need to continue the reform path towards the EU.
