TIRANA, October 18 /ATA/-The Chairman of the Democratic Party in opposition Lulzim Basha pointed to the government and blamed it for Albania’s failure to open negotiations with the European Union.
According to him, the conditions necessary to meet so that the Union takes this step have got increased.
“There were 5 conditions, but now there are 9 because Albania is taking steps backwards. The new conditions have to do with the criminal prosecution of persons for vote buying and elections under a code approved by consensus of political forces,” said Basha to journalists.
Basha added that he has just returned from Berlin with the most up-to-date information on these issues.
“Edi Rama has achieved a lot with propaganda in Albania, but in Europe one cannot succeed with propaganda,” said further the DP leader.
Basha said the opposition is ready to attend early elections, but they must have minimum standards./a.sh/p.s./
