TIRANA, October 8 /ATA/-“It is high time for Lebanon to recognize Kosovo’s independence,” said Parliament Speaker Gramoz Ruçi during a meeting with Lebanese Ambassador to Albania Dona Barakat.
President Ruçi praised the current positive level of bilateral relations and Albania’s willingness to further strengthen them.
“The relations between Albania and Lebanon are historical and they should be strengthened. The two countries have very good political relations, but they should be followed by the strengthening of economic and trade cooperation. This requires that agreements signed between governments should become operational especially in the fields of agriculture, tourism and transport”, emphasized the Speaker of Parliament Ruçi.
On her part, Ambassador Dona Barakat expressed the highest estimation of the Lebanese Parliament and government and the readiness to strengthen relations and cooperation with Albania. “I will forward all your suggestions to the government. I am confident that these requests will be welcomed and the cooperation between our two countries will receive new impulses “, said ambassador Barakat who at the end of the meeting also handed over to Speaker Ruçi the official invitation to visit the Republic of Lebanon. /gj.mima/j.p/p.s./
