TIRANA, Sept 19 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ “President of the Republic Ilir Meta should not have used Criminal Code as the next means to attack parliament,” the chairman of SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, said appealing to MPs to turn down the President’s decree.
At first, Balla thanked all MPs for endorsing these amendments, adding that President has not understood the very essence of it.
“We all agree that food safety falls below the standards and introduction of stringent measures will deter violations of this nature. No one will ever dare abuse food safety. All cases of abuse will be punished from now on,” Balla said.
Violence in stadium is another phenomenon that is addressed through amendments to Criminal Code. “ If President had not used this law as part of his political positioning, the attack on the bus of soccer team that was committed several days ago in Shkodra would not have happened, or the wrong-doers would have been held accountable as in any other country,” Balla said.
The amendments stipulate stringent measures for violence against police employees or medical professionals.
