Denaj: Reforms, positive impact on business climate

TIRANA, Sept 6 /ATA/ Reforms launched by Albanian govt. have impacted on business climate.
This is what Minister of Finance and Economy, Anila Denaj, said during the event for the launch of 2019 Small and Medium Enterprise Policy Index for the Western Balkans and Turkey by OECD.

The minister said that Albanian govt. is committed to implementing the reforms for consolidation of macro-economic stability in the country which have led to Albania marking an economic growth of 4.3 percent in 2018, an all time high in the last 10 years as well as a low level of unemployment estimated at 12.3%.

Given that around 99.8% of companies in Albania are small and medium-sized enterprises, the govt. has greater responsibility towards reforms under implementation and those on track.

Likewise, the Minister mentioned some of incentives provided to small and medium sized enterprises such as: subsidies through funds managed by AIDA as well as grants through projects supported by donors
such as EU, GIZ or EBRD.

Referring to the results of OECD report, Minister Denaj said that they would serve as an incentive for the Albanian government in the steps to be taken in the future towards further improvement of business environment.

“I assert the commitment of Albanian govt., Ministry of Finance and Economy to helping the small and medium business create a better and favorable business climate but also encouraging through additional policies their needs for development in the future to make sure these indexes to be more positive in their next evaluation,’ Denaj said.
