TIRANA, September 6/ATA/-Albania has taken over the Chairmanship of the biggest regional initiative – South Eastern Defense Ministerial – SEDM, for a two – year period (2019 – 2021).
Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka stated that Albania’s SEDM chairmanship coincides with the 20th anniversary of establishment of the South-Eastern Europe Brigade or SEEBRIG.
“Albania takes over SEDM Chairmanship while being more than ever committed to make a contribution to security, peace and development of dialogue in the region”, emphasized Xhaçka.
“Albania’s SEDM chairmanship coincides with the 20th anniversary of establishment of the South-Eastern Europe Brigade or SEEBRIG, a brigade comprising of some 5,000 troops in service of the peace operations in our region”, said Xhaçka./p.s./
