TIRANA, Aug 30 /ATA/- Tirana is in the lead with the highest number of business startups in the first half of 2019.
Nearly 5 thousand businesses in the sector of services, trade and retail sale were started in the capital during January – June 2019.
According to data from General Directorate of Local Taxes and Tariffs (DPTTV), in the first 6 months of 2019, 4818 new primary and secondary entities have started their business activity in the capital.
The service activities constitute the highest share with an estimated figure of 1979 subjects , followed by retail sale with 1574 subjects, wholesale with 459.
Experts note that businesses in the agro-tourism sector have seen a sudden boom mainly in the suburban areas of Tirana, such as Dajti, Kashari, Kërraba etc., which have great potentials for agro-tourism development.
Expansion of business startups has led to increased number of employees in economic activity, as well as increase of household incomes and consumption.
