TIRANA, August 26/ATA/- The reconstruction works are going ahead at a high pace to revamp the new “Zeqir Ymeri” stadium in Kukës, the Mayor of Kukës Safet Gjici said.
On the first day of his term at the helm of the municipality, the new mayor of Kukës, Gjici inaugurated the beginning of the construction works on “Zeqir Ymeri” stadium.
“The company responsible for the reconstruction of the stadium has hired dozens of experts to provide fast, quality work. With the reconstruction of the stadium, the football team will be able to play at a stadium according to UEFA parameters, ”Gjici said.
The reconstruction of the stadium is an investment of around € 5 million provided by the Albanian government and the Albanian Football Federation. The stadium will have a capacity of 8 thousand spectators. Besides the national competitions, the stadium will host even European Cup matches.
Kukës Mayor Safet Gjici said few days ago that he hoped the works would be completed ahead of the 15-month deadline set in the project so that the upcoming championship starts at the new stadium.//a.i/
