TIRANA, Aug 24 /ATA/Deputy PM Erion Braçe stated on Saturday that the fire outbreak in Shëngjin is a recurrent case, pre-mediated and in consequence criminal.
“The forest of pine trees and other bushes does not exist anymore. For 32 hours, fire fighters, soldiers and emergency staff did everything possible to protect the dwellings but also to contain wildfires. They managed to save the dwellings from raging fire, but could not make it to save the forest,” Braçe said.
According to him, the green crown of Shëngjin has been destroyed due to criminal interest of scoundrels who despise forests for they can make money from concrete only.
“Not to mention the arsonists setting the forest ablaze to create pasture, to obtain coal to their benefit. I know that lately there is a trend towards crying for the Amazon rainforest, but watching Shengjini forest burn down hurts more,” he says.
