TIRANA, August 23/ATA/-Albania’s Justice Minister Etilda Gjonaj stated today that during 2019, the free Legal Aid Office at the Ministry of Justice handled 820 cases and resolved 814 of them.

Minister Gjonaj said that, “We continue to be available to our citizens every day even through the Legal Aid Office, providing free of charge all the necessary services that simplify access of the citizens to the justice system so that they find the proper legal advice.”

“The free Legal Aid Office is supported by the Open Society for Albania Foundation. This office has helped at least 820 citizens to receive primary legal assistance through counseling, claim preparation and assistance in meeting the requirements of Free Secondary Assistance”, said she.

Further on, Gjonaj added that, “The satisfactory balance of the first half of the year appears to be a further motivation to continue providing this service through the new Legal Aid Directorate, the local offices due to open soon as well as cooperation with civil society or legal aid clinics”./j.p/p.s./
