TIRANA, Aug 21 /ATA/ Thanks to funding from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Commission, the shoreline of Shkodra Lake from Shiroka to Zogaj will be transformed beyond recognition.
Prime Minister Edi Rama posted on Wednesday views of the project, which will boost development of Shkodra and Shiroka.
“Any time soon… Here’s how the shoreline of Shkodra Lake will be transformed from Shiroka, where the first phase of this project has begun, to Zogaj. For this project, the Albanian government has insured funding from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and European Commission,” Rama said.
The project entails a comprehensive intervention, with reconstruction of the road and water supply and sewerage infrastructure, as well as the construction of the “Lungolago” promenade along the shoreline from Shiroka to Zogaj.
Works on transformation of Shiroka have begun in July 2018 and are running at high rates, after many decades of under investment, to improve the image of this popular tourist spot in Shkodra, a major attraction for domestic and foreign tourists alike.
