TIRANA, August 21/ATA/- The Municipality of Tirana has completed the reconstruction works of the cinema in Lapraka neighborhood, otherwise known as Maks Velo’s cinema.
The reconstruction works on the old emblematic building designed by Velo are over and now the cinema is ready to serve the 60,000 inhabitants of this municipal unit as a cinema, a center for cultural and artistic activities, performances, conventions, seminars, book promotions, and theater and so on.
Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj said the Lapraka cinema or otherwise the historical Maks Velo’s cinema will be ready very soon.
“A new cinema in the city? After Kadare’s iconic house, Lapraka’s cinema is soon ready, or the historical Maks Velo’s cinema,” said Veliaj.
While, the specialists of the administrative unit no.11 in Tirana said that Lapraka Cinema is getting ready to open carrying the architectural art of Maks Velo, who went through many challenges of the past communist regime due to his modernist tendencies./z.tosku/j.p/p.s./
