TIRANA, Aug 8 /ATA/- Taxation Directorate General informs taxpayers that the dividend tax is at the rate of 8% if payment is made within August 20, 2019.
In a press release TDG states that “pursuant to Law No. 8438, dated 28.12.1998“ On Income Tax ”, as amended, dividend tax on retained earnings realized in 2018, including reserves and capitalized profits, is at 8% rate if you make this payment within August 20, 2019 .”
“Likewise, the 8% tax rate will apply to retained earnings, realized in 2017 and earlier, provided the tax is payable by September 30, 2019,” the GDT underlines.
The GDT clarifies that unless the above conditions are met for 2018 and earlier, the taxpayer will pay 15% dividend tax.
Taxation Directorate General announces that it will continue to forward reminders and information on tax legislation and procedures to taxpayers from every turnover band.
