Klosi: Tomorri Mount wealth cannot be destroyed to do business

TIRANA, August 6 /ATA/- Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi visited the young people attending the summer school set up for “Smile Albania” students in Drimadhë.

Klosi said to the young people that it was a genuine employment experience in service of promotion of tourism in Albania as well as an increased opportunity to acquire knowledge in the field of environment.

“The 500 students who were selected for the Smile project are part of ongoing training to do what the Ministry of Tourism and the Environment aims, the promotion of tourism in our natural areas in service of sustainable tourism development. I believe that in these 5 days of summer school here at “Turtle Camp” you have gained an experience that would be difficult to get at the university auditoriums”, said Minister Klosi during the meeting with the young people.

To highlight the significance of protecting the natural resources, the Minister took the example of Mount Tomorri. He spoke about the ruling of the Administrative Court rejecting the government decision to declare it a protected area.

“One cannot endlessly do business on national assets, one cannot destroy such great national wealth as Mount Tomorri, the Albanian Olympic mountain just to do a quarry business”, said Minister Klosi./z.tosku/p.s./
