Tel Aviv-Tirana, four charter flights per week

TIRANA, August 4 /ATA/- Albania’s Minister of Tourism and Environment Blendi Klosi announced that Israir Airlines Ltd. will operate four charter flights per week in the destination Tel Aviv-Tirana.

The minister made the announcement today while being at the stand of “Smile Albania”, set up at “Mother Teresa” Airport, accompanied by top managers of Israir and Israeli ambassador to Albania.

“I thank the company for the great number of Israeli tourists who came to Albania this summer. The number of tourists has tripled into 20,000 Israelis as compared with last year and that is up to the end of June ”, said Minister Klosi.

According to Minister Klosi, the reason is the improved services in the tourism market in Albania as well as the investments in the hotel market.

“This added opportunity will certainly create a new destination, which will be followed by other Israeli companies that see Albania as a diamond in the tourism sector and a new perspective of Israeli tourism. This current year there are 4 flights per week during almost the entire tourist period from April to September. And Israair’s top executives promise next year there will be 7 flights a week,”said Minister Klosi.

He added that Israir’s leaders also talked about the golden opportunity that comes with the opening of Kukes airport. That could be a very interesting destination for Israeli tourists not only to Albania, but also to Montenegro, Kosovo, Serbia and the entire region./k.s/p.s./
