TIRANA, July 19 /ATA/ – Albania’s largest port of Durres handled over 2 million tonnes of cargo in the January-June period in 2019, up 11% year-on-year, the port authority said on Friday.
Durres Port Authority, in collaboration with the operators, has increased the volume of cargo handling by 11% over first half of 2019, or around 193 000 tonnes of goods more than during the same period of the previous year.
Some 1,559,017 tonnes of cargo have been handled by merchant ships, whereas the rest, around 460 000 tonnes of import-export cargo from the ferries sailing from and to Durres.
