TIRANA, July 12/ATA/- During the EU Council Presidency, Romania has made positive recommendations for Albania, the head of the European Union Delegation to Albania, the EU Ambassador in Tirana, Luigi Soreca stated during the event organized in the light of the handover of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union held at the Europe House in Tirana.
Throughout the Romanian EU Council Presidency there have been significant developments within the European Union, but also in the Western Balkan countries.
In his speech, the Ambassador Soreca underlined that,”an important element of the Romanian EU Council Presidency success was the organization of the informal Summit in Sibiu on May 9, attended by the Heads of State or Government, which received the Europe’s attention.”
We are looking forward to welcome the next presidency. The May 9 summit has been very important to all of us, as one of the main events of the Romanian presidency. High on the agenda was also the further expansion of the EU, by meeting the conditions and standards, ” the Ambassador Soreca said.//
