TIRANA, July 3 /ATA/- The Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted Wednesday to the European Commission decision to reject the official request by the Government of Netherlands to return the visa regime for Albanians.
“Netherlands request to return visa regime for Albanians has been rejected, despite the opposition’s predictions, the EC decision has made it clear that we have spoken the truth. The European Commission has decided to reject the request of the Dutch government to ban Albanians from moving without visas to the Netherlands. The visa regime for Albanian citizens will not be returned because no criterion has been violated by Albania,” the Prime Minister Rama said.
Earlier today, the EU Ambassador to Albania, Luigi Soreca, reported that, “After a careful assessment of the content of the notification received from The Netherlands and based on available information and relevant data, EU Commission considers that in the current situation the circumstances to trigger the visa suspension mechanism are not met.”//a.i/
