TIRANA, June 20 /ATA/- The Adriatic-Ionian highway, the seventh road, Arbër road and Vlora road, are four priority projects under construction and some others are under preparation phase completing the framework of the national road of transport strategy.
Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku said today at the plenary session of the Parliament that, “Improvement of road infrastructure is a priority of our government to bring the roads up to the European standards, directly affecting the economic development of the country and in particular tourism as one of the main objectives of Rama government “.
An undeveloped road network is associated with unsatisfactory economic performance and poor quality of life, and as a result requires ways to develop the road network and other transport links in order to meet the country’s economic, political and social needs.
Balluku said that road infrastructure projects are a priority in the transport strategy and the national action plan 2016-2020. The most of investments made so far have been directed to road infrastructure and construction of key interconnection corridors while aiming to integrate them into Balkan infrastructure networks and Pan-European Transport System, said the minister./e.xh/ /a.g/p.s./
