Hard currencies get devalued

TIRANA, June 7 /ATA/-On Friday, Albanian Lek strengthened its position versus the other foreign currencies at the foreign currency exchange market.

According to the official exchange rate of the Bank of Albania, USD got devalued with 0.36 lekë and was exchanged with 108.46 lekë while Euro was exchanged with 122.21 lekë or 0.08 lekë less than yesterday.

The other foreign currencies have also weakened their position in their exchange with Lek. The summer season characterized with an added influx of the foreign tourists increases the hard currency offer in the market and also brings their weakening in the exchange market.

The devaluation of the hard currencies and especially of the Euro implies benefit for the creditors who pay less for the loan they have received in this currency, cheaper imports and a positive impact on the state budget for paying back of the debt.
