TIRANA, June 6 /ATA/-Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today evening that, “Phone tapping is not evidence, but an indication for continuation of the investigation”.
Being a guest to a television studio, PM Rama spoke about the case of telephone tapping material published by the German “Bild”.
The prime minister considered absurd and wrong the order of the prosecution office to ban publication of the materials on the media. And he brought the example of the Wikileaks that shocked the world, but no process was opened on the New York Times.
The prime minister warned that tapped materials should be considered carefully so that not to deviate from the truth as they stand in a certain context.
“The prosecutors are held accountable for protecting the investigative secret”, said the prime minister while adding that all the people involved are not free, but in custody.
In the political aspect, the prime minister said he believes that the file was kept in the drawer for political blackmail and the file is connected with what I have called the earthquake that the justice reform underway will cause.
The prime minister backed his assertion by saying that the material was not used for action if there was something in it, but it was used for political goals./p.s./
