Balla: DP, LSI seeking to hamper Albania’s European integration path

TIRANA, June 6 /ATA/ – Secretary General of the Socialist Party Taulant Balla on Thursday accused the two main opposition parties of efforts to hurt Albania’s path towards European integration.

Addressing an electoral campaign meeting in the town of Cerrik, central Albania, the Socialist senior official also stated that the leaders of the main opposition Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) have joined their forces in a bid to undermine progress of the ongoing justice system reform in the country.

“Four years ago we asked for your vote for the mayor of Cerrik, but the town of Cerrik is stagnating since LSI joined DP and together are trying to damage Albania’s European path. I have never doubted that their efforts against judicial reform and Albania’s European path have brought the two together,” Balla told a cheering crowd of thousands of local residents in Cerrik.

The Socialist lawmaker pledged more development projects and investments in Cerrik after the June 30 local polls.
