TIRANA, May 30/ATA/- “The EC report is very positive for Albania, reaffirming the positive recommendation for the Council to open the negotiations now without any conditions,” said today the Ambassador of the EU Delegation in Tirana Luigi Soreca who handed over to the Speaker of the Parliament Gramoz Ruçi the EC Progress Report on our country.
Soreca said that, “Albania has made significant progress and we believe that this report recognizes all these achievements”.
On his part, the Parliament Speaker Ruçi said that, “The positive recommendation given by the European Commission is welcomed by all Albanians despite the political convictions they have while it is a very positive thing that there are no Euroskeptics in Albania.”
According to him, this progress report comes out immediately after elections to the European Parliament have ended, the result of which is very welcome as pro-European progressive force won.
“I wish this time the Council will have a decision-making in line with the recommendation by the EC,” concluded Ruçi./a.g/p.s./
