TIRANA, May 25/ATA/ – Year by year there is observed a growing number of the foreign tourists who want to spend their vacations in Saranda. Thus, 42 cruise ships have booked Saranda Port over 2019, the Saranda Port Director, Kozeta Statha stated.
” In February of this year, Saranda has hosted its first tourists, and we expect to have an increased inflow during the peak tourist season,” Statha said.
Saranda city is considered as the pearl of the Albanian Riviera due to its wonderful coastline and the cultural and historic heritage which shows Albania’s ancient history in real proofs and facts. The city has everything tourists need to see and enjoy, starting from the clean coastline and the blue waters of the Ionian Sea and the Butrint ancient city, one of the most important cultural sites in the Balkan.
Also, one of the sites attracting a large number of foreign tourists is, Lëkursi Castle which dates back to the 16th century and is constructed in the shape of a square with two round towers sitting diagonally to one another.
Its strategic position on a hill of about 300 meters in height as well as its panoramic views of Saranda, the Butrint Lagoon and even the island of Corfu, make this destination a tourist favorite.
