TIRANA, May 24/ATA/-The first tests of the Shell Upstream Albania B.V. (Shell) at the Shpirag-4 well in the vicinity of Berat confirm the potential of oil.
Shell Co. issued a press release to say that, “Initial tests showed a flow potential of several thousand barrels of oil per day from Shpirag 4 well in central Albania. The company needs more work to determine its commercial volume”.
“We are pleased that these initial tests have confirmed the potential of this discovery and look forward to growing our business in Albania,” said Marc Gerrits, Shell’s Executive Vice-President of Exploration.
Shell Co expresses in its press release the satisfaction that these first tests have confirmed the potential of oil while the company expects to enlarge the business in Albania.
Shell plans to go ahead with extended production tests on the Shpirag 4 well and more drills to appraise the Shpirag 3 well, while exploring others to test their potential./e.xh/ /a.g/p.s./
