Tirana, May 18 /ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Blendi Çuçi, held on Saturday a meeting with Strategic Council of Agriculture and Rural Development, which focused on the role of veterinary service in the chain of food safety.
Çuçi said: We are drafting a new law on veterinary service, adding that it entails broad discussions with all parties of interest.
“The aim is to produce a good outcome filling all gaps and guaranteeing the control of livestock health before and after slaughter. Together with amendments to Penal Code, this law inextricably linked with food safety remains a priority for Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, “Çuçi said.
The new regulations are of paramount importance for market operators and consumers who deserve to buy safe produce, according to Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
