TIRANA, May 17 /ATA/ – By Z.Tosku/ After the end of electoral process for the third member of Tirana University’s steering board, the students say they feel represented by the lecturer Llesh Lleshaj.
The Albanian Telegraphic Agency went to some of TU faculties where students expressed their opinion on conduct of vote.
“It was something very good. The three candidates were very good however we feel that the winner will represent the students in the best possible way,” a student of Economic Faculty says.
“The vote did not take place in a hall for all and there was no gathering. Representation gives us the opportunity to exercise our rights through the person chosen by us.”
“Everything went well. We went to the voting centre and voted the person we deemed fitting.
Other students told ATA that voting process started at 08:00 am and ended at 16:00 pm, meanwhile the vote count was conducted on record time.
“The voting process was orderly. It kicked off at 08:00 and lasted until 16:00, whereas the votes were counted on record time. Professor Lleshaj won a landslide victory,” another student said.
“We feel represented now, because the process of voting was a success. The elected university teacher is an academician and has always reached out to the students.”
The vote was up to the standards. It was by secret ballot and free from external influence. All students have taken part in vote to have their say.
There were 30,000 students from seven faculties who voted to choose their representative on the board, among actor Florian Binaj, psychologist Denada Toce, as well as the lecturer Llesh Lleshaj. /a.g/sm/
