TIRANA, May 7 /ATA/ “The Higher Education Institutions are autonomous and no one should infringe on their independence.”
This is what spokesman of President of the Republic, Tedi Blushi, said with regard to Meta’s decree on dismissal of proposal for discharge of Tirana University rector, Mynyr Koni.
“President of the Republic has spoken at length basing on legal arguments.”
The Ministry of Education has to bear full responsibility for implementation of Higher Education reform, and in the event of disagreement with legal arguments set forth by the President, it should follow the procedure defined by law beyond any pointless rhetoric,” spokesperson for the President said.
Minister of Education, Sport and Youth, Besa Shahini, in her reaction to the President’s refusal to discharge the rector Mynyr Koni described the decision as bluntly favoring the law transgressor.
