TIRANA, April 28 /ATA/-By A.Alla/ – Albania as an all year-round tourist destination remains one of the most favorable attraction to foreign visitors during 2019. Albania does no longer offers sun, sea, and sand tourism only, but also ample opportunities for adventure tourism enthusiasts to explore our country’s natural beauty, camping sites to emerge as into a luxurious experience being so close to nature.
A growing number of visitors from Western Europe, Germany and Austria have chosen the northwestern region of Shkodra at this early spring for an adventurous holiday close to the nature, and a local resort provides camping opportunities, as well as outdoor sports, including canoeing in the Shkodra lake and Kiri river.
In an interview with the Albanian Telegraphic Agency, the resort’s owner Niko Maraçaj said that he got the idea to build the resort after extensively traveling and camping outside big cities.
“The resort brings the adventure tourism lovers close to the nature and this is the idea behind building this resort here in Shkoder,” he said.
“A group of more than 40 tourists mainly from Germany, Finland and Germany are accommodated in our accommodated in our resort today. Around 200 visitors a day spend their vacations at this very resort during the summer season. The resort offers camping opportunities, traditional food, as well as a stunning landscape surrounding the area and the Shkodra lake” Maraçaj said.
German and Austrian tourists also told ATA they were visiting Albania for first time, saying this is a wonderful country. They said they were deeply impressed by the hospitality of local residents, Albanian traditional cuisine with a diversity of tasty food and delicacies.
