TIRANA, April 19/ATA/- The Municipality of Tirana is running for the “European Youth Capital 2022” title.
The efforts are underway to achieve this target. On Friday, the representatives of Tirana Municipality, the youth organization and students came together in a meeting to discuss on the challenges and steps to be taken.
Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj said that Tirana Municipality is already shortlisted among the 5 finalists, but targets to win the title.
Veliaj added that more work and devotion are required.
The mayor emphasized the need of Tirana assuming a regional dimension and be accessible to the young people coming from the countries of the region.
More international institutions are choosing Tirana as the location of their headquarters transforming the city into a centre of decision-making. He highlighted the fact that the Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) is here in Tirana.
Tirana meets all the conditions and has the opportunity of winning the competition so that to have the chance to showcase in 2022, through a multi-faceted programme, its youth-related cultural, social, political and economic life and development./p.s./
