TIRANA, April 17/ATA/-There were about 1.2 million people employed in Albania in 2018, reported the Institute of Statistics, INSTAT.
This indicator implies that the unemployment scale is in the lowest historical level since the beginning of 2013.
INSTAT appreciated that participation scale in the labor force for the age group 15-64 years old in 2018 is 68%.
According to gender, it happens that the employment scale of women of the age group 15-64 is higher amounting to 52%.
According to the age groups, employment of the youth has notably increased recording in 2018 a double increase as compared with 2013.
In the last quarter of 2018, the employment level in the economy marked a progressive growth thanks to the young people attending the vocational schools enabling their fast engagement in work, mainly in the sector of services, hotel-management and tourism.
According to INSTAT statistics, Elbasan region had the highest employment scale last year with 61% of the people employed in the age group 15-64 years old.
According to sectors, employment in agriculture had the lowest number of the people employed in Tirana region.
Thus, in Tirana region employment in agriculture in 2018 was about 7%, said INSTAT. /e.xh/ /a.g/p.s./
