Rama meets with Chinese counterpart: Mutual visa exemption for both countries

TIRANA, April 12 /ATA/ PM Edi Rama held on Friday in Dubrovnik a meeting with PM of the People’s Republic of China, Li Keqiang.

During this meeting, PM Rama asked his Chinese counterpart for fast-track procedures to guarantee access of Albanian specialty agricultural products to the Chinese market.

In the light of the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, PM Rama proposed mutual exemption of visas between the two countries to increase the number of Chinese tourists to Albania but also to intensify trade exchanges between the two countries.

Li noted that China welcomes Albania to expand its export of specialty agricultural products, such as honey, olive oil and wine to China.

China is willing to work with Albania to consolidate friendly relations, cement practical cooperation, further promote bilateral ties and benefit the two peoples, said Li.

China and Albania should enhance communication to reach an agreement on mutual exemption of visas between the two countries, facilitate youth exchanges and consolidate public support for the development of bilateral relations, the Chinese premier said.

PM Rama is in Croatia in the framework of the eighth leaders’ meeting of China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC), 11 of which are EU members.
