TIRANA, April 10 /ATA/ – President of the Republic Ilir Meta described the repeated case of armed robbery within the territory of “Mother Teresa” airport as a serious threat to national security, public order and image of the country.
In a press release, the head of state urged law-enforcement agencies to pursue the operations for identification and capture of the perpetrators and recovery of stolen cash in a determined fashion.
Meta urged all the responsible authorities and law-enforcement institutions to conduct a full and in-depth investigation to throw light on this grave and repeated case
Meta asked that apart from yesterday’s armed robbery the prosecution should also launch investigation into the failure to take the measures necessary for adherence to legal obligation and recommendations of National Security Council and hold to account any institution and individual that has not performed the duty.
“From this moment on, the Institution of President of the Republic decides to put at disposal of the Prosecution office all the documentation on the National Security Council meeting on May 16 2018 and its conclusions,” the head of state says.
