TIRANA, April 3 /ATA/ – Roughly 2500 acacia trees were planted on Wednesday in the Korab-Koritnik natural park in the light of “Create Your Oxygen” initiative.
GIZ has joined the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment by planting these seedlings, contributing to afforestation of an area of 1.1 ha and reduction of mass erosion as well.
The Korab-Koritnik natural ecosystem lies in the northeastern part of the country encompassing the regions of Kukës and Dibra, bordering Kosovo.
Planting of 2500 seedlings as part of the nationwide action “Create Your Oxygen” is expected to revitalize the damaged areas.
The “Create your oxygen” initiative, which is being implemented all over the country, is aimed at adding trees to reduce air pollution.
