TIRANA, April 2 /ATA/-Deputy Minister of Interior Romina Kuko spoke during an interview on television about establishment at the prefectures of the regional councils on public security as a mechanism for preventing crime and increasing security.
“The preventive work does not belong only to the State Police”, said Kuko.
Further on, she referred to figures saying that by 2012 in Shkodra there were 18 people killed, but during last year the number of the people killed was 9.
“We have proposed to establish regional councils for the public security and that will be under leadership of the region’s prefect. There will be the representatives of the regional councils, headmasters of the schools, heads of medical centres, i.e. all the local institutions and this is a vanguard initiative that has an impact on prevention of the criminal events”, said Kuko./j.p/p.s./
