Tourism, main engine of economic development

TIRANA, June 22/ATA/-“Tourism is the main engine of economic development that we expect in the coming years for economic growth and employment while we have to invest in qualification of the people”.

Prime Minister Edi Rama made the statement on Friday during a meeting with local residents of Himara in the course of public accountability tour.

“We are aware of many other things need still to be done, but the turning point in economy and employment has already begun. This is not a short way, but a long one. At present, Albania has an unemployment level of 12.5 %, the lowest ever historical level”, said PM Rama.

In this context, the prime minister emphasized that tourism constantly generates new jobs.

“There are some challenges in the context of increasing investments in tourism like building of capacities of all the service structures, qualification of people and vocational education”, said PM Rama.

According to the prime minister, there is a growing number of the people knocking on the door of vocational schools./e.caushi/p.s./
