Service quality in tourism sector through vocational education

TIRANA, June 11/ATA/-A better quality of services is closely linked with employment of the young people qualified at the vocational schools and is the guarantee for development of tourism.

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting in the Western Albanian city of Durrës with newly recruited people qualified from vocational education schools in tourism industry.

The prime minister was at the FAFA Complex where 60% of the people employed have been qualified at the vocational schools.

PM Rama drew attention to the fact that, “Developed countries have also a developed vocational education” and highlighted the fact that, “the majority of the entrepreneurs have a vocational background education”.

“Those graduating from vocational education can start businesses of their own through which they can earn more than a salary in the public sector and have a perspective”, said PM Rama.

Speaking about the advantages of vocational education, the prime minister said that those qualified in such schools can find a job faster than the others.

PM Rama pointed to the fact that at TAP site in Fier the welders are people from Thailand, Pakistan and Turkey. The majority of welders are foreigners even at the construction site of the new national stadium in Tirana.

The prime minister argued that this fact implies that Albania has a shortage of skilled people in professions that are on demand in the labour market.

“The FAFA complex has 6 Turkish chefs, not because there are no Albanian chefs, but Albanians are still in small numbers in relation to the needs”, said PM Rama adding that during the last 20 years it was thought only on qualification of lawyers and Albania has managed to have the greatest number of lawyers per square meter in the world and the poorest justice system./j.p/p.s./
