TAP faces no bureaucratic hurdles in Albania

TIRANA, June 8 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) investors and administrators have been surprised by Albania as they have faced no administrative hurdle or delay.

Attending the installation of the turbo compressors at the TAP’s compressor station in Fier – another milestone towards completing the pipeline project – PM Rama said “the station is was a key part of the project, an investment of extraordinary proportions extending in an area equal to 25 football pitches.”

The government head praised the construction teams for their excellent performance in building the compressor station.

“More than one million hours of work and not a single work-related injury reported despite the natural work-related risks,” the Premier added.

When the construction works kicked off – PM Rama went on saying – “the project’s administrators expressed concern that Albania could become a hurdle due to the bureaucracy and the problems that might arise in the relations between the company and the public administration. But the project’s administrators have repeatedly said that to their suprise they faced no hurdles and no delays in terms of administrative relations in Albania.”

“There have been no delays of whatsoever although the process requires an array of permits to be issued and often complex procedures and potentially difficult relations with various communities,” he added.

The government head said “this is a positive example and evidence that commitment to such projects, but also to well-coordinated and well-structured public projects, can lead to zero administrative problems, ensuring quality and speed.”
