TIRANA, May 4 /ATA/- As of today, villa 31 – (the former residence of dictator) will host the exhibition “Rare testimonies.”
A new museum tour featuring the rarest, yet the oldest manuscripts of our humanistic and spiritual heritage will be on display through to May 20 at the heart of Tirana to witness through the senses a unique narration about Albania of values and civilization at the heart of Europe.
The opening ceremony of this exhibition, which features the Purple Codices of Berati, started off with the playing of our national anthem in the presence of ambassadors accredited in the country and personalities of politics, academia, culture and religion which is held in the light of Europe week.
PM Edi Rama, in his remarks, put the emphasis on religious cohabitation in the country describing it as a value attributed to Albanians in the world over ranking Albania among the countries to be held as a role model.
“ The aim is to celebrate Europe week as a week of internal light that guided us to this event which has a lot to tell and teach to those who are part of us, albeit unable to see us inside and see us outside, to our friends here in Albania, ambassadors and those visiting us,” PM said in his remarks about the exhibition.
“It will serve as a process of exploration to us, we and them comprehend better that we are one although the destiny has kept us apart, those in EU and us in Europe.
Commenting the place where the exhibition is on display, Rama said this building plays host to everything its former landowner would never wish to see in our country freed from his shadow, Rama said.
This event held in Europe Week , PM said, is like a curtain that opens for the theatre of this week’s solemnities and echoes Europe within us, a trio encapsulated into one, philosophical, secular and spiritual, three big traditions that have shaped our identity in the course of nearly 15 centuries.
