TIRANA, May 3 /ATA/- A Dutch team composed of landscape architects, town planners, museologists and botanists from the universities of Amsterdam and Groningen are designing an urban plan of Nivica village in Kurvelesh, which is to become one of the first villages with a tourist plan. This team was joined by several Albanian students, who are contributing to gathering of data on the ground and history of local architecture.
This expedition aims to identify on the ground all the tourist routes from the coastal area to the mountainous areas Borsh-Kuç-Nivica-Zagorie and design an urban plan for the village of Nivica. This plan will determine the future of tourist developments in the area, protection of natural and historical landscapes, as well as models of typology of local architecture.
After the stage of design, this plan will be submitted to local authorities along with a series of models of tourist buildings in the style of local architecture, which will be a must for any new construction in this area.
Meanwhile, the work is focused on developing the best trails which will be promoted for tourists keen on exploring this area as well as the model of agro-tourism with main emphasis on preserving the tradition of shepherdess among the locals.
The team of architects is guided by the Dutch architect Martin Sobota, from Cityforster, well-known for a series of projects centred on development of rural communities.
