TIRANA, April 24/ATA/-Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ditmir Bushati gave an interview to the “Voice of America” radio to say that the time up to June will serve to gain the support of Germany and France for Albania opening of the EU accession negotiations. The minister reacted to voices coming from the two countries for a vote against opening of the negotiations.
“France and Germany usually say the last word because of their weight in EU decision-making. We believe that PM Rama’s meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday and other representatives of German political spectrum, media, civil society and business will give an impetus in this respect. We shall continue contacts on the process of reforms even with France and other countries that require more information so that at the end to reach a satisfactory decision-making for all the sides”, said FM Bushati.
According to the foreign minister, Albania and the region have got a confirmation of the European perspective, something that is due to be expressed in Sofia summit in May.
Speaking about corruption, FM Bushati said that it is a regional challenge and in Albania it will be fought through deepening of reforms./z.tosku//e.caushi/p.s./
