TIRANA, April 22/ATA/-Promotion of mountainous tourism was a good starting point for including Dardha mountain village, about 17 km away from Korça, into the programme of “100 villages”.
Dardha has several traditional guesthouses and taverns that offer traditional food. It is also a ski resort where people can go skiing. During winter time the village is frequented by a great number of local and foreign visitors. Hence, Dardha has all the opportunities of getting transformed into a model of rural development.
Speaking to ATA, Korça Mayor Sotiraq Filo said that Dardha included into the programme of “100 villages” will have its benefits not only for the local community, but even in the context of development of regional tourism, given that in Korça municipality are also selected Drenova, Voskopoja and Boboshtica.
According to him, the programme of “100 villages” is one of the best projects on rural development and it has been introduced in the right moment.
Filo said that Korça Town Hall has made evident the needs these villages have and has even drafted a list of priorities of things requiring urgent intervention.
According to him, these villages have a tourist potential and following intervention they will get transformed into models of rural development.
Filo said that it is already finished the reconstruction work on the entrance road to Dardha village including pavement with characteristic cobblestones of the area which gives the opportunity to the foreign tourists to go to the destination. Likewise, there is also installed the street lighting at the entrance and centre of the village.
Dardha monuments, tradition and nature are appealing to tourism.
The development of Dardha depends mainly on tourism. Hence, there are worth mentioning its natural monuments or water resources of curative values.
According to Filo, the programme of “100 villages” targets first of all restoration of the monuments of culture, pavement with cobblestone and lighting of the village lanes.
Likewise, there will also be opened some information offices of tourism.
Dardha is distinguished for its attractive natural landscape. One can taste the wonderful nature all year round.
Dardha has also the capacity of organizing scientific conferences and events of cultural and tourist character.
One can reach Korça by road.
Dardha is also distinguished of an early tradition of costumes, wood processing, and felt. The area is also distinguished for its traditional dance performed by dancers wearing red and black traditional costume and a silver belt.
The village is known for its axe, known as the axe of “Dardha people”./p.s./
