TIRANA, April 21/ATA/- Herceptin, the main medicine used for treatment of early-stage breast cancer is included in the list of the reimbursed medicaments and will be provided free of charge.
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the important decision of a national impact during the meeting of the Cabinet held on Friday in Fier.
“The new list of the reimbursed medicaments meets better the needs of the citizens. Herceptin is included in the list along with 36 new medicaments,” said PM Rama.
He added that, “It had been a problem for many years because treatment with herceptin was rather expensive”.
“Now the treatment will be provided free of charge in all the public hospitals of the country. Thus, we deliver to a promise of considerable financial burden”, said PM Rama./p.s./
