TIRANA, April 13 /ATA/- Infrastructure and Energy Deputy Minister Artan Shkreli held talks with residents of Hasi and Kukës city in the light of consultations with local communities on the Nation’s Highway toll.
“According to initial feasibility study, this road will be constructed at the cost of 240-260 million euros. The road debt paid off every year, principal plus interest is about 40% of the total turnover tax collected in Albania,” Shkreli stated.
According to Shkreli, the main issue is not whether there will be a road toll, but it is the only way to save this asset from degradation.
“Through negotiations with the company there could be reached a preferential formula for local communities,” he added.
“To impose or not a road toll is no longer the question. No road tolls imposition means, a non-maintained road and all billions spent will lead to asset degradation,” Shkreli stressed. /e.xh/ /a.g// a.i/
