TIRANA, April 7 /ATA/- The Ministry of Defence is pressing on with reformation and modernization of the Air Force which goes hand in hand with other forces of the Army.
This is what the Defence Minister, Olta Xhacka, said in her speech during a commemoration ceremony at Farka Air Base on the 2nd anniversary of the deaths of captain Florian Deliu and lieutenant Donald Hoxha who lost their lives in an air crash.
Like other parts of military force, which is part of NATO, the aviation is going through a process of reformation and modernization to enhance our performance and capacities. The military profession involves commitment and willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice. Regardless of the service arm they belong to and the front where they serve, once a military wears the uniform, he feels bound to serve his country and make the ultimate sacrifice for his nation, people and country.
Afterwards, the minister along with the Chief of the Army’s General Staff, Brigadier General Bardhyl Kollcaku, Commander of Air Force, Kuto Hasani, as well as relatives and family members of the martyrs placed wreaths and flower bouquets at the memorial to the pilots fallen in the line of duty.
The martyrs, captain Florian Delia and lieutenant Donald Hoxha died in a helicopter crash two years ago in Grizhë of Malësi e Madhe during a training flight where another soldier, Gerald Baramuça, remained injured./m.m/sm/
