TIRANA, March 30 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/- In March alone, the recruitment offices all across the country have employed as many as 1396 people, a figure which PM Edi Rama finds very encouraging in the challenge of employment.
PM Rama attended on Friday an event on employment, which unveiled concrete data and figures on the results achieved in this regard.

Employment of people in need, of those taken off the economic assistance scheme but not only, according to Rama, is a tough and complex challenge, yet the results in March are very encouraging.
“The result that as many as 1396 people have landed a job is very encouraging if we take into account the role that recruitment offices have played, because it is all about people who have gotten a job thanks to recruitment offices,” Rama said,
Employment of 25 thousand people, our main goal

Rama said that the govt. has set the target of employing 25,000 employees who are registered as unemployed jobseekers, who have been taken off economic assistance or not and are willing to work..
PM described this goal as viable relative to the results achieved in March.
On the other hand, PM stressed that March has seen 23 percent more job openings made available by businesses for the recruitment offices. According to him, the volume of employment opportunities has increased as well.

Centrality of trainings and promotion of vocational education
“Economic assistance has been conceptualized as a short-term scheme rather than eternal, however lengthy stay in the scheme is associated with some type of apathy and loss of motivation to work. Yet, the results are not discouraging, on the contrary they are uplifting in this aspect,” PM said.
Employment challenge is tricky and starts from capacities in the country. All this is not about how many people want to find a job, all this is about the skills, the required qualification. The lack of vocational education for over 20 years and, in turn, the shortage of specialized capacities has repercussions for the country, Rama said.
Overhaul of employment scheme puts the emphasis on trainings

There are 10 thousand people eager to have a job. They have the doors open even against payment. We will pay them ALL 55 thousand per month, which is more than the average of state benefit if they offer to attend training courses, Rama said.
PM added that there are as many as 83 thousand registered job-seekers, high figure, yet there were 150 thousand people in 2013.

Putting the emphasis on encouragement of individuals to work, Rama reiterated that economic assistance, poverty and unemployment can’t be an eternal status.
