TIRANA, March 7 /ATA/ – The Albanian Customs Administration is steadily enhancing cooperation with business community as part of the government’s efforts in building a favourable business environment and boosting entrepreneurship development in the country.
In the framework of these efforts, senior officials of the General Directorate of Customs held a meeting with representatives from the Albanian Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATTSO), a bi-lateral commercial membership organisation with headquarters in Tirana, aiming to promote Albanian – Turkish business and investments.
Deputy Director General of Albanian Customs, Mirela Meko, informed Turkish entrepreneurs about a series of improved customs procedures and innovations in Albania’s customs system.
According to Mekos, the customs valuation system has changed radically, while a series of customs procedures have been eased since a new Customs Procedures Code entered into force.
“Direct meetings with entrepreneurs and business community representatives have been fruitful for both sides,” Meko said during meeting.
She invited Turkish business operating in Albania to join a series of training programs the customs administration offers for entrepreneurs.
The Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry representatives welcomed progress regarding procedural aspects of the customs administration and the pro-business environment reforms launched by government.
