TIRANA, Feb  14 /ATA/ The Democratic Party MP, Ina Zhupa, filed in parliament the initiative for changes to the Criminal Code seeking severe sentences for those who intimidate journalists, those who violate, threaten or murder reporters.

In the media statement, Zhupa emphasized that they should be qualified as  crimes due to the duty and in turn should carry the same severe sentence as the  crimes committed against State Police employees, or against the doctor.

She went on saying that only in the last few days there have been several cases of reporters from Report TV, from the Fiks Fare investigative broadcast, and other journalists who have received intimidating messages, or have been threatened while carrying out their functions as journalists.
