TIRANA, April 5 /ATA/ The Minister of State for Youth and Children, Bora Muzhaqi, organized the national youth conference, “Youth in Action. Coordination of Youth Actors for a Stronger Voice in Policymaking,” which was attended by 600 young people.

The conference aimed to enhance the awareness and understanding of Local Youth Councils and Student Councils about the role of the National Youth Council (KKR) as the advisory body to the Ministry of State for Youth and Children. It provided information to Student Councils, Local Youth Councils (KVR), and youth organizations on the updates in the revised “Youth Law,” while promoting cooperation and the sharing of best practices between KVRs, youth organizations, and student councils. Additionally, it focused on identifying areas and ways in which KKR, KVR, Student Councils, and youth organizations can collaborate to help achieve the goals of the National Youth Strategy.

In her speech, Minister Muzhaqi highlighted the significance of this meeting, which represents the culmination of three years of effort in drafting the “Youth Law.”

Muzhaqi stated that young people “are not only the future, but they are the present and the future of this country.”

Muzhaqi stated that the youth of our country have had the chance to have their say at both local and national levels. The new law provides them with the opportunity to be decision-makers in the forums where youth policies are shaped, while also ensuring the necessary support, including financial one, to implement these policies.

The meeting was structured around three panels, during which participants addressed key issues directly impacting youth. The panels included a diverse mix of representatives from the government and central institutions, local government officials, and young people engaged in KVR, KKR, KS, and youth organizations.

The discussions focused on the new “Youth Law,” draft law on”Volunteering,” unifying the youth voice, cooperation with local government, the transition from school to work, youth guarantee, and career counseling.
